The change to Helltide chests was announced during the latest Diablo IV developer update livestream, where details about the game’s first season and a new class for Diablo Immortal were also revealed. If you didn’t know Unique items couldn’t already drop from Helltide chests, you aren’t alone. Diablo franchise manager Rod Fergusson also didn’t know Unique couldn’t drop from Helltide chests until now.
